Unity FWF Card for a Friend

I had a whole week off from grad school last week...still had to work, but it was AMAZING how much time I had. Did I craft? Barely. lol! I did, however, find this fabulous paper from the Stella and Rose Collection by My Mind's Eye called Hattie. Love it! I picked up a couple other designs from that line, too.

As I had mentioned in my last post, I have become newly reacquainted with my Cricut in the past month or so. Discovering what I can do with it along with some design software. The card base is made by welding images from the Lacey Labels cartridge and the cute folder (with the ticket stamp from last month's Unity kit) was made by welding a couple of images from From My Kitchen. I had a blast experimenting in between cleaning up after a sick kiddo. I'm afraid Fiona is next. She has a cough and low grade fever. Hoping she will be better in the AM, so I can go to work!

Oh...also adore the Prima candy beads...so sweet. Mitch made me a copper tree just like the wire for the beads. I think I am going to try my hand at my own variation of Prima's creation! Have a warm weekend!!!

H{ippity} Hop Cricut Crazy

I have had my Cricut Expression for almost a year (unexpected birthday gift from sweet Mitch.) and haven't used it a whole lot. Was I crazy? It is the coolest machine.  Thanks to some fabulous You Tube videos and getting my final project draft done ahead of time (all 23 pages!) I decided I was going to enjoy myself a little on Sunday.

Here is what I created using my Wild Card cartridge and Ippity's Regal Greetings set. I am not currently selling {ippity} due to the weight of grad school, full time job and a busy household. Hopefully, I will have the time to commit to it after I graduate next June/July. I know the other {ippity} gals would LOVE to get some of this great rubber in your hands!!

I made the wedding cake card with a blackout on patterned paper and one on white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on vanilla and used the center point setting on a frame for the oval.

It's been tough lately with two little ones...trying to find time and energy to spend on each other. We need to make the time. No matter how much I love our little family, we wouldn't be a family without the two of us. This was Mitch's Valentine's Day card. Looking forward to many more good times to come...and a date night!

FWF Unity & Bic Mark-Its

Happy Friday! Luckily, I made a birthday card for my mom, so I had something for the post. Mom not only got a card but a Groundhog's Day Blizzard. lol! I never can find a good groundhog stamp...flowers will do. ;)

I really enjoy how this beautiful Unity image turned out with my new Bic Mark-It permanent markers. I picked up the 36-pack from Staples a couple of weeks ago.  I could like to have a few more shades to choose from, but I can't complain with the results for the price. BTW, the Copic colorless blender pen and other markers are blendable with the Mark-Its. Super thrifty for the...well...thrifty. ;) About $25 per set of 36 (broad tip or fine tip)

FWF Unity with La Pomme Etsy Inspired Challenge

I have a wonderful combination of both an Etsy Inspired Challenge featuring the Etsy shop La Pomme and one of my favorite Unity sets, Decadant Pear by Samantha Walker and a KOM. Had to use some of my new twine and the mini clothespins Mitch put in my stocking. :)

I added a couple pictures of the kiddos in addition to my inspiration, card and availability of itty bittys at Unity's site.

FWF Back Again!!

Here is an indication of how crazy things have been around here lately...Liam helped me over the weekend to punch and peel four (yes, you heard it...FOUR) Unity KOM sets! A couple store sets and a couple web sets. Thankfully, I had about 30 minutes to be able ink up this stamp tonight. The teacup from the December KOM is my cup of tea! Bah! Love. Love. Love. Even though I am starting a strict budget this year while in grad school, my Unity KOM will still be coming to my front door. Great deal and LOTS of variety!

Christmas Card 2010
Talk about simple. I made 85 in roughly 2-3 hours over a day and an half.
Love the Hero Arts Doily (Lace Circle) embossed in white and the SU vintage Christmas sentiment. The string if from a stash out in the garage. lol!

Black Magic Technique
How cool is this? Using a solid stamp, white ink, some watercolor pencils and SCS's tutorial, I made this fun cards. I'll probably spice them up a bit before I give them away, but I live the technique and the simplicity of the designs.

Liam opening a gift from Nana and Papaw Born. We told him he had to wear his hat he made at preschool. It is a decorated Christmas Tree wth a star on the stop. Too cute!

Whether it is a sticker or a ribbon Miss Fiona looks adorable with all sorts of decorations on her head as she opens a gift from Nana and Papaw Born.

Vacation is Over

And what a wild one it was. :) I have several things to post this week. I purchased a a new Tim Holtz and a few Hero Art stamps along with my Unity KOM. I tried out SCS's Black Magic technique and FINALLY finished and mailed my Christmas cards. Hope to see you back here to check out the fun I have had!

Glass Pendants A Plenty

Here are a bunch new pendants that I have been making over the last several days. Who knew they would have been such a hit? The first one has to be my favorite to date. I haven't listed any in my Etsy shop because they have been flying out of my hands faster than I can post and make them. Had a snow day today, so I need to get cracking on those Christmas cards!

FWF TGIF

I have so much to get caught up on this weekend. (I have a craft show that I am in NO way ready to attend. Tonight is going to be fun!) The week just seemed to fly by before I could get anything accomplished. I have been playing around with ideas for my Christmas cards...no, they're not done. ;) I don't think this is going to be the one, but I had fun experimenting. Have a joyful day!

Someone who I am Thankful For...FWF

I really don't think I could ever choose one person who I am so thankful to have in my life. My parents, husband, children, in-laws, cousins, aunts/uncles and friends. This one is for my aunt (mom's sister) who has always been like a mother to me. She left her family for months to take care of, my mom, my dad, brothers and I after my mom had a stroke when I was a senior in high school. I love her dearly and don't know what life would have been like without her. She called me a couple nights ago to tell me that she has spots on her lungs. (This came as a shock to me as she has never smoked, although I have read that isn't always a factor.) There are still tests to be done, so I am remaining optimistic that the spots are malignant. If you could kept her and her family in your prayers I would appreciate it.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving. I know I will with so many people and things to be thankful for that I will feel the blessings all week!

Four Months Later...FWF

I have finally put together my daughter's birth announcements. Pretty sure everyone knows by now, but I did it for my son and, no matter how late it is, I want to do it for her, too. I used both Unity and Ippity for this quick little announcement. The cherry stamp was too cute not to use for this. I added some red baker's twine to set off the cherries.

(ippity) Hopping with Glass Tile Jewelry

Well, I am going to be doing a lot of hopping for the next couple of weeks. "Why?", you may ask. I somehow fractured my foot at the base of my middle toe. I had been walking around on it for a week before my mom and MIL  suggested that I go to have it checked out...and I actually listened. There was a reason for the bruising, pain and swelling...lol! Monday is keep off it, elevate and medicate, then schedule the appt. with the orthopedist day. Fun.

I made a few necklaces using glass tiles with decorative paper and stamps in the{ippity} line. I think I'm hooked! The sunlight coming in through the window reflected making it look like crosses in the glass.
